Compliance Officer
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field and a CADC or LPC (LCPC/LCSW preferred). A minimum of three years’ experience in Behavioral Health or related area. Must possess a strong work ethic, analytical and organizational skills, knowledge of behavioral health, including Substance Use Disorders and a professional demeanor. Specific experience with quality assurance and/or quality improvement and utilization review required. Responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting PI data and for organizing, coordinating and monitoring clinical quality and compliance for the Agency. Knowledge of The Joint Commission, Behavioral Health standards, Division of Human Services, Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) standards, ASAM criteria, Rule 132 and 140, 2060 and HIPAA Rules and Regulations. Experience with completing a successful record audit and site survey from various licensure bodies. Experience with Electronic Health Record.

Good short-term memory, good verbal communication skills, ability to provide and follow effectively written and verbal instructions. Ability to perform light physical work exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force on an occasional basis. Sitting, standing, walking short distances are activities that the Compliance Officer must perform.

RECOVERY COACH ASSOCIATE
Job Description:
Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Residential Services and Supervisors, the Recovery associate will assist client(s) in securing services that support ongoing stability and improvement of the patient’s life goals. These support services include introduction to recovery support systems (such as AA, NA, faith based, family/friends finding a sponsor, etc.); encouraging attendance and active involvement in a treatment program, when appropriate, obtaining assistance with educational goals (GED, apprentice training, etc.); medical/psychiatric appointments (enrolling patient in Affordable Health Care) and assisting in legal compliance of court requirements and other duties as assigned.
Position Summary:
Engages with patients in the Addiction Treatment Program and encourages them to maintain sobriety, participate in recovery-oriented activities and develop a network of sober supports. Participates in group treatment activities and models effective group participation and recovery-oriented perspective for patients with substance use disorders. Helps patients identify and access needed resources and recovery supports.
Responsibilities:
1. Meet with co-facilitators of group therapy to plan presentation of material
2. Attend group therapy sessions and model appropriate group participation
3. Assist with co-facilitating selected aspects of group therapy sessions
4. Provide support and encouragement to group therapy participants
5. Provide information and referrals regarding recovery resources in the community
6. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
The South Suburban Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse is looking to hire candidates with the following credentials. High School Diploma or Associate Degree in Behavioral Health or related field preferred. If applicable, one year of experience in Behavioral Health or Chemical Dependency programs. Must have thorough knowledge of the disease of alcoholism/addiction and its application to patient care. A good working knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices for Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health conditions is important. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus. Person must be willing to travel using company vehicle to transport patient(s) to applicable clinic(s) as instructed. Must have valid driver’s license and minimal auto insurance.

REFERRAL COORDINATOR
Job Summary:
The Referral Coordinator contributes by expanding the client population base by promoting The South Suburban Council’s current services and programs through partnership agreements and involvement within the community and faith-based organizations. The Referral Coordinator will also be an integral part of screening, assessing and drug testing clients for services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Identifies active Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) that serve the neighborhoods of Southland and surrounding neighborhoods. Plans, develops, implements, and organizes time spent in the community obtaining referrals for The Council.
· Outreach in the community at various locations to build relationships and gain referrals
· Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with government officials and community leaders in the Southland and surrounding neighborhoods.
· Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties;
· Plans, coordinates, and executes special events and press conferences.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work extremely well as part of a team.
· Ability to evaluate cost of a program and compare it to the benefits for the organization.
· Excellent persuasion skills.
· Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism.
Education and Experience:
· Experience in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
