Job Description:

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting immediate applications for the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our growing South Suburban Cook County behavioral healthcare (BH) organization.

Reporting to the President and Board of Directors, our new Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide leadership and direction for daily operations relating to integrated clinical care delivery, customer service excellence that exceeds patient, provider, and payer expectations, as well as coordination of internal team efforts with external community key stakeholders, providers, and regulatory agencies.

Our results-oriented new COO will be accountable for financial performance including transition from volume to value-based reimbursement models, development and implementation of business plans, and new organization initiatives that can enhance our not-for-profit market position in the next 3 years.

While working with our talented department leaders and staff, our Chief Operating Officer will positively strengthen workforce productivity by educating our team to effectively 1) bring together outpatient, inpatient and crisis support services for patients referred for alcohol and substance abuse treatment, 2) furnish preventive counseling, 3) manage interventions for patients with co-existing mental illness and 4) implement our U.S. Triple Aim 2017 goal where community residents get the right service at the right location at the right cost.

Job Qualifications:

Our new Chief Operating Officer must possess the leadership vision to oversee 24/7 delivery of integrated behavioral healthcare to our current 2,500 patients treated annually through 120 employees with a $ 7 million dollar 2017 year budget.

In this COO leadership role — where our organization offers strong promotion potential based on results achieved from 2017 to 2018 — we need a very professional executive who has a strong record built around these qualities:

  • Demonstrated experience managing behavioral health clinical programs, IT data configuration / EMRs, interoperability of EMRs with external providers, claims billing & collection, as well analysis of utilization trends relating to population health
  • Current knowledge of government funding mechanisms and practices, auditing, and regulatory / licensure reviews
  • Ability to analyze, negotiate, and administer new contracts for Medicaid, commercial, and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) BH agreements
  • Oversight of Human Resources including regulation, administration, benefits, pension plan, insurance, accounting, financial management of not-for-profit organization public reporting, and facility renovation
  • In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission Behavioral Health Standards, DHS/DASA Rules 2030, 2060, and 2090, DHS/DMH Rule 132, HIPAA, 42 CFR, Part 2 federal confidentiality
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent field with 5 years similar leadership experience.

Position Available: Senior Food Service Assistant – Full Time

Hours:                         10:00am – 6:00pm – Wednesday
                                    10:00pm – 6:00pm – Thursday
                                    6:00am – 2:00pm – Friday
                                    6:00am – 2:00pm – Saturday
                                    6:00am – 2:00pm – Sunday


High School diploma.  Two to five years of food service experience; must have Food Service Sanitation Certificate, must have experience in preparing food for 50 or more, must demonstrate leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the daily activity of the kitchen area; must be able to maintain the productive flow of the kitchen area in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor.  Have knowledge of modified diets for patients with special diet needs; have good knowledge of Food Service management principle.  Must have valid driver’s license and minimal auto insurance.


Good organization skills; good short-term memory; ability to use logical thinking to solve problems; ability to provide and follow effective written and verbal instructions; must demonstrate mechanical skills necessary to fulfill job requirements of position.  The Senior Food Service Assistant must be able to stand and walk short distances most of the working day.  Stooping down, reaching out for, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds of food and supplies are activities that the Senior Food Service Assistant must perform.  Good hand dexterity and speed is needed to get the job done in a timely manner.
