Child care co-pays capped at $1.25 per month
To help provide financial relief to struggling families during the COVID-19 pandemic, parents who qualify for the Child Care Assistance Program will pay a maximum of $1.25 in monthly co-pays for January and February 2021. This initiative will lift a significant cost burden from 60,000 low-income families across the state—learn more about the Child Care Assistance Program here.

Students invited to submit posters, videos for Radon Action Month
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the American Lung Association in Illinois are teaming up to host two statewide contests encouraging middle and high school students to use their creative talents to promote radon awareness. Prizes range from $100 to $1,000! Submit a poster by March 5 or a 30-second, commercial-style video by March 21. Learn more about radon risks and testing here.

Officials warn of potential COVID-19 vaccine scams
With our state’s vaccine distribution effort now underway, it’s important that we remain vigilant: Wear a mask, wash your hands, keep a safe social distance and be wary of scammers trying to take advantage of pandemic angst. Never share passwords or personal information with someone who claims to be selling COVID-19 treatments or a vaccine. Contact your health care provider to get the facts, and report potential scams at
